Gold and Silver-Catalyzed Reductive Amination of Aromatic Carboxylic Acids to Benzylic Amines

چکیده

The reductive amination of benzoic acid and its derivatives would be an effective addition to current synthesis methods for benzylamine. However, with technology it is very difficult keep the aromaticity intact when starting from acid, salt wastes are often generated in process. Here, we report a heterogeneous catalytic system such amination, requiring solely H2 NH3 as reactants. Ag/TiO2 or Au/TiO2 catalysts can used multiple times, little noble metal required, only 0.025 mol % Au. bifunctional: support catalyzes dehydration both ammonium carboxylate amide nitrile, while sites at metal-support interface promote hydrogenation situ nitrile. Yields up 92% benzylamine were obtained.

Direct reductive amination of aromatic aldehydes catalyzed by gold(I) complex under transfer hydrogenation conditions.

The direct reductive amination of aromatic aldehydes has been achieved with excellent isolated yields (89-96%) using readily accessible Ph(3)PAuCl/AgOTf catalyst along with ethyl Hantzsch ester as hydrogen source under mild reaction conditions.

DNA-catalyzed reductive amination.

Deoxyribozymes are particular DNA sequences that have catalytic ability, analogous to protein enzymes as functional amino acid sequences. The discovery of natural RNA enzymes (ribozymes) spurred the search for artificial deoxyribozymes, which are identified by in vitro selection. Most deoxyribozyme-catalyzed reactions involve phosphodiester bond cleavage or ligation, although other reactions su...

Catalytic reductive N-alkylation of amines using carboxylic acids.

We report a catalytic reductive alkylation reaction of primary or secondary amines with carboxylic acids. The two-phase process involves silane mediated direct amidation followed by catalytic reduction.

Boron-Catalyzed N-Alkylation of Amines using Carboxylic Acids.

A boron-based catalyst was found to catalyze the straightforward alkylation of amines with readily available carboxylic acids in the presence of silane as the reducing agent. Various types of primary and secondary amines can be smoothly alkylated with good selectivity and good functional-group compatibility. This metal-free amine alkylation was successfully applied to the synthesis of three com...

Microwave-assisted Cu-catalyzed protodecarboxylation of aromatic carboxylic acids.

An effective protocol has been developed that allows the smooth protodecarboxylation of diversely functionalized aromatic carboxylic acids within 5-15 min. In the presence of at most 5 mol % of an inexpensive catalyst generated in situ from copper(I) oxide and 1,10-phenanthroline, even nonactivated benzoates were converted in high yields and with great preparative ease.
